Mark Hamill Hoping Star Wars: Episode VII Goes More Old School

There have been many reports of Harrison Ford reprising his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII and that the upcoming movie will focus more on the children of both Luke and Han. In an interview Mark Hamill spoke about the upcoming movie, if there’s a possibility that all three Luke, Leia and Han Solo will be making an appearance or not.
On the subject if all of them will be reprising their roles in the movie, Mark Hamill couldn’t give a an official answer if whether they will or not. Though they are wanted to go and meet Michal Arndt who is writing the script for the movie and Kathleen Kennedy who currently runs Lucasfilm.
The most interesting the Mark Hamill mentioned is how he hopes everything is going to be old school, here check out what he said:
“I said to George that I wanted to go back to the way it was, in the sense that ours was much more carefree and lighthearted and humorous – in my opinion, anyway….hope they find the right balance of CGI with practical effects. I love props, I love models, miniatures, matte paintings — I’m sort of old school. I think if you go too far in the direction of CGI it winds up looking like just a giant a video game, and that’s unfortunate. … If they listen to me at all, it’ll be, lighten up and go retro with the way it looks.”
It’s good to know that Mark Hamill knows what the fans want, more than anyone else and I completely agree with him. For the next Star Wars trilogy they should try not to use to much CGI, go back to the old ways of how it was done with props and etc. That there would make the movie already have a better chance of becoming a great movie, I just hope that J.J. Abrams will be able to realize the same thing.
