The Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith wasn’t the greatest game ever made but it was a whole lot of fun, the game followed the story of the movie very accurately. You got to play as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin, playing as Obi-Wan you were more focused on him trying to defeat Grievous and as Anakin it was more focused on his fall to the dark side of the force.
This game didn’t get the best reviews which surprise me a bit; because when I played this game I had so much fun it was unbelievable. It starts off like a game similar to God of War, hack and slash droids and what not, but when you got into battle with a sith that’s when the game got really good. The combat for the lightsaber duels were awesome, at the time it made me feel like an actual Jedi.
The single player campaign was pretty awesome from what I remember; the best part of the game was the ending just like the movie. The battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin is the greatest lightsaber duel and one of my most favorite fight scenes in a movie. I thought it was cool that in the game it gives you an alternative ending, one where it shows you what happens if Anakin ended up killing Obi-Wan instead. As you went through the campaign you unlocked characters for the multiplayer mode, this is when things got interesting.
I remember when me and my friends would get together and have a Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith tournament, where we would all versus each other until there was one. There was an awesome character selection such as Anakin, Obi-Wan, Dooku, Grievous, Mace Windu, Darth Vader, Ben Kenobi, Serra Keto and Serra Keto. Who I hated playing against was Grievous this guy was massive and had four arms, though he only used two in the game which was a little disappointing. Anyways playing Grievous right you were going to win no matter what, some of his combos were insane and I ended up losing that tournament to Grievous…
The game is known for not being the greatest, but regardless of that fact this game to me was very fun. I suddenly have the urge to play it again, but I have no idea where I could get it. If you missed my last Star Wars Video Game Retrospective episode, check it out here it’s about an awesome game called Republic Commando.
